It’s March! How are those New Year resolutions going, babes? Are you sticking to them? Or have you lost heart?

If it’s the latter, first of all, if you even set goals this year, great job. Embracing a mindset of “new year, new you” takes courage, and we can all take steps toward self-improvement. Whether we want to lose weight, exercise more or eat better, setting the intention is the first step. So, gooo giiiirl!

We love goal setting at the start of a year and doing regular check-ins, since after setting goals, the next step is to stick to them! We know how hard it can be to follow through, but we don’t want you to give up hope if you’ve struggled at the start of this year. So here’s some advice on doing a resolutions check-in and keeping you healthier and forever glowing in 2020.

Be Specific

Whatever your goals may be, you may be struggling with them now if they weren’t specific enough. Revaluate to see if you need to add a something measurable to the mix. Do you want to lose a certain number of pounds? Body-fat percentage? Run 5 miles? Be specific about what you want, when you want it, and go get it ‘cause YOU CAN!!

Keep Taking Baby Steps

Sure, summer is around the corner, but, babe, don’t be hard on yourself and try to achieve the unthinkable. Any unhealthy behaviors you have would have developed over the course of time. And replacing those unhealthy behaviors with healthy ones requires time and dedication. That said, if you were trying to do too much too soon, you may have quit by now. Don’t get overwhelmed and think that you need to make drastic changes. Take baby steps and work toward changing one thing at a time.

Make Note of Your Progress

If you’ve made progress, and we’re sure you have, even if small, WRITE IT DOWN! Your written progress will be a source of motivation for you to reflect on where you started, where you are and where you need to be! Write it down on your phone or stick a post-it on your wall- just do it!

Be Proud and Show Off

You’ve worked hard to get this far!! And in a world where we can’t live without documenting everything on social media, here’s something else you can put up! If you got it flaunt it, right? *wink*

Treat Yourself

It’s okay to indulge every now and then, even Beyoncé loves herself a good treat. But remember to not turn a cheat meal into a cheat day! If you’ve made progress and reached your goal for the month or week, give yourself a bonus in the form of a guilty pleasure.

Get Back Up

If, even with your friends and family on board, you’re still finding it challenging to stay on track and you fall off the wagon – it’s not the end. If you put your mind to it once, we’re sure you can do it once again! Believe in yourself and everything will change for the better.
